Hyperboy: Episode 5

"Improved Style, Improved Series."

Alright, official review time.

After the long wait, the next chapter of the Hyperboy saga has finally dawned on us, and let's say, it DOES NOT disappoint.

This flash was amazingly well put together and wonderfully thought out. Everything from the backgrounds to the sounds shows that Gene really put his sweat and hard work in this. His time away from Hyperboy has really improved his talents, and it shows.
I don't know if he got another mike, or if it's just been so long, but the voices are ten times better. Gene and Hyperboy are more distinct, and everyone seems much more mature.

Some things I really enjoyed on this flash were:
-The music was amazing. At first, when I heard the new theme song, I was a bit uncomfortable, but after a few watches, it sunk in. It feels like it was supposed to be there. My favorite use of music though would have to be the sound that came in the henchmen's break room. If I remember correctly, Gene said he made that one. I was thoroughly impressed, it was amazing!
-Camera angles. Oh my goodness. Those were wicked. For example, when Gene went into Hyperboy, the kind of "blurring" was amazing when the camera went in and out. Thoroughly impressed.
-The humor. While it *seems* like there was less than the previous episodes, when there was humor, it was hilarious. Some lines I loved were: "Uhh, PEAR! I'm going to need that back" and the whole appointment for the duel to the death was epic.
-Backgrounds. The backgrounds in this flash were very detailed. All of the paintings were actually drawn where other authors would just blur everything; Gene actually took the time to draw all of the statues, posters, and paintings.

Well Gene, hats off. You have my full respect. And for all of the people who mentioned the time that it took him, Gene has a life. He is in college, and Hyperboy is not his first priority. I personally really glad that he took the time out of his busy schedule to spend some quality time at his computer to draw us something amazing. Thank you Gene thanks for everything.
